Jon Brady was full of praise for his 'incredible' players as well as the fans as he reflected on Tuesday night’s terrific 2-1 away win at Sutton United.
Louis Appere and Mitch Pinnock scored the goals as the Cobblers maintained their push for automatic promotion despite the injuries continuing to mount.
“To stand up to Sutton in the way we did showed great inner and mental strength,” he said.
“They were incredible all night and especially in the last fifteen minutes. They created a wall of sound behind that goal and really helped us through.
“We sent out a rallying cry a couple of weeks ago and they have responded. The fans are doing everything they can as are the players and that connection feels extra special right now.
“Not many teams come here and win and what the players have done tonight in the circumstances is just incredible.
“Losing our captain was obviously a big blow but I want to speak about the players who played tonight and Sam Hoskins has lead by example. He picked up an injury in the warm-up before Saturday and he is playing through the pain barrier.
“We’ve got some unbelievable characters in this group, it’s a good result tonight but its just another step for us.
“I’ve got mental scars from where we have been before and we have just got to keep chipping away.”
