A report on Sunday's action

4 September 2022

Northampton Town Women continued their FA Women's National League Division 1 Midlands campaign on Sunday with a home game against Stourbridge at Harpole.

After an even first 20 minutes, with chances at both ends, the visitors took the lead when Niamh Deasy scored with a low finish.

The Cobblers came close with a long range effort a minute before the break but half time arrived with the visitors a goal to the good with chances having come for both sides.

The visitors doubled their lead two minutes in to the second half when Deasy scored her second.

A far post header from Favor Omenazu halved the deficit on 59 minutes, heading home a Zoe Boote cross.

The Cobblers pressed for an equaliser in the last half an hour but couldn’t find a way through.
