JON BRADY DELIGHTED AS COBBLERS END STEVENAGE'S LONG HOME RUN

The thoughts of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady was delighted as the Cobblers won 3-2 at Stevenage, a result which ended the league leaders 13-match winning run at home.

Shaun McWilliams scored the winner in an incredible game which saw Stevenage twice come from behind.

“We wanted to come here and be the first team to break their home record and we did it,” he said.

“It was a good performance all round and the endeavour we showed was terrific, we spoke at half-time about a few things we needed to do and we implemented those.

“We had to adjust in the second half and make a couple of changes, there were times today where we could have gone under but we didn’t and to win it like we did was incredible.

“I believed in what we set out to do today, we really had Stevenage on the back foot for the first 25 minutes but we then allowed them back into it.

“It was fantastic for Shaun to score the winner, Danny Hylton was magnificent when he came on and I thought the sending off was harsh.

“We stood up to Stevenage, there were times when they got on top but we managed to wrestle back the initiative and that shows real character.

“The fans were immense again, I think they can see what we are trying to do and that’s why we are getting the support we are at the moment. They have the belief and we want to keep and build on that connection.”
