Jon Brady previews the Cobblers Emirates FA Cup first round tie at Chesterfield.
“Having a clear week has given us the chance to focus fully on the FA Cup, it’s a tough tie but we want to progress,” he said.
“As a club we have had some great cup runs over the years and there is still that romance about the FA Cup. Players at our level dream of getting into that third round and getting that big tie.
“I’m sure a lot of Chairman dream of that as well but our approach for Saturday will be full on and we will be going to Chesterfield to try and get through to the next round.
“Chesterfield have had a similar start to the season to ourselves and it’s a really tough challenge.
“The gap has probably closed between League 2 and the National League, I’m sure pretty much every team is full-time and the clubs have the finances to support them as well.”
