Chairman Kelvin Thomas has said the club will continue to be 'sensibly ambitious' during this summer's squad recruitment.
The club have held recruitment meetings over the last few months and are in talks with potential targets and their agents as well as the players who have been offered new terms.
"We are always sensibly ambitious," the Chairman said.
"In terms of those out of contract, we will offer players what we can but as guardians of the club we won't put the club at risk. We won't lose a player over a few hundred quid but we have to be realistic and sensible.
"Some of the money being banded around even in the National League is incredible and that shows how tough things are.
"We have been here long enough for fans to know we always do the best we can and do the right things for the right reasons and in the best interests of the club.
"There is always a lot of talk at this time of year, we will ignore the speculation and go about our business. We have some good targets on our list, we have had two good transfer windows in a row and we are working as hard as we can to have a strong window again this summer."
