Northampton Town Football Club celebrated its annual End of Season Dinner at the County Ground this week.
The event highlighted the achievements of many throughout the season, and players, staff, volunteers and fans enjoyed a good evening together.
Two of the Football & Education programme's second-year students, Patrick McGrath and Sophie Rylance, were named as the ‘Students of the Year’ during the evening.
The award was sponsored by the University of Northampton and recognises the hard work of the pair on-and-off the pitch throughout their two years in the FEP.
Patrick has been a great student in the classroom and his tutors have always spoken very highly of his work. On the pitch, his progression has been notable. He has evolved from a full-back into a winger who uses his pace to exploit space, deliver crosses and add goals. Great work, Patrick!
Sophie was quiet when she started the FEP and has gained confidence over time. She has become a great leader and role model for the other girls. A good example for others in the classroom, her behaviour and work is always something to admire. She wears the captain's armband with pride and leads the defence, encouraging teammates with positive messages. Well done, Sophie!
