Goalkeeper Andy Woodman says he has very fond memories of May 24th 1997.
25 years on, Woodman recalls that famous day at Wembley where the Cobblers beat Swansea City 1-0 in the Division 3 play off final.
"I am still amazed at how many fans we took to Wembley that day," he said.
"Northampton must have been empty that day it was just amazing. It would have been a good day to commit a robbery in Northampton, the town must have been empty!
" The reception we got as we came out at Wembley sticks with me, and the celebration afterwards was just amazing.
"I remember Frainy's first free kick hit the wall and I was thinking, that's typical, here comes extra time. I didn't expect much from the re-take but when it went in we all went crazy and there was such relief in the whole team that we didn't go to extra time, we were all shattered!"
