HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOULTON FC!

Local club shares in 125 year anniversary

7 March 2022

Sharing our 125-year anniversary match celebrations on Saturday were Moulton Football Club, who themselves are also having 125-year anniversary celebrations this year (they are actually 126 having formed in 1896, but celebrations last year were postponed).

Moulton’s junior section, commonly known as Moulton Magpies have over 150 boys and girls from their junior teams and they were walking out with the players, performing the guard of honour and flag waving before the game.

Moulton Football Club were first registered with the FA in 1896 playing their first recorded game against the nearby village of Old, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Moulton Football Club is part of the Northamptonshire Football Association and provides football for all ages and abilities from ‘The Minis’ at age 5, right through to walking football at age 80. Moulton is a Charter Standard Community Club within the FA structure and has approximately 30 teams with over 450 players playing and training weekly.

The Moulton senior first team currently play in the Northamptonshire Combination. Moulton has one of the best facilities in the county which include the 3G pitch which was installed in 2018. The facilities allow the Moulton first team to be promoted to the National League System and this is currently the target for the club. Achieving this will enable Moulton to create a pathway from Juniors at age 5, all the way through to Step 6 of the football pyramid. With some of the talents in the current Moulton junior teams, who knows the levels they can achieve in years to come. Exciting times for the black and white stripes!

Congratulations to all at Moulton FC from everyone at Sixfields and thank you for your support.
