LOAN WATCH

A look at the weekend action for our players out on loan

6 March 2022

All six Northampton Town players out on loan started for their teams on Saturday afternoon.

Nicke Kabamba came close to opening his tally for Woking away to play-off chasing Grimsby Town in the Vanarama National League. The striker had a looping header tipped over in the first half and could only find the side-netting late on. The hosts scored in the fifth minute of added time to snatch a 1-0 win.

Scott Pollock’s Boston United came from a goal down at half time to draw 1-1 at home to mid-table Leamington in the National League North. The midfielder had a close-range effort saved on the hour mark as he almost built on his debut goal last week.

Promotion-challenging Brackley Town kept a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the same division. They drew 0-0 away to Southport. Max Dyche almost set up a winner with a cross before the hour but was sent off soon after.

St Ives Town conceded in the final minute of normal time as they lost 1-0 away to in-form Redditch United in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central. Josh Flanagan and Liam Cross featured in the starting line up.

Finally, Charlie Woods made a number of saves throughout but was eventually beaten late on as Quorn lost 1-0 away to Gresley Rovers in the uhlsport United Counties Football League Premier Division North. The hosts are unbeaten since the opening day of the season.
