Northampton Town midfielder Shaun McWilliams has signed a new 2 year contract with the club.
The 23 year old McWilliams who is Northampton born and a product of the club's Academy, has made more than 150 first team appearances and has established himself as a key member of Jon Brady's midfield.
"We are delighted to secure Shaun's signature," said the Cobblers boss.
"He was excellent for us last season and is maturing and getting better and better as a player.
“We will continue to work hard with Shaun to help him continue that progress and development of his all round game and I think the chance to continue that work played a big part in his decision.
"We are not surprised there was interest in him this summer and being able to hold off that interest and secure his signature was important for us. We know he is happy here, he is settled and enjoys being part of a good dressing room.
“Although he is only 23 he has a good amount of experience and he is a key player for us and this signing is big news for the club and our supporters.
"We believe we are having an excellent summer transfer window and Shaun's re-signing was an important part of our planning.
