Jon Brady previews Saturday’s season opener against Colchester United at Sixfields.
“We are really looking forward to Saturday and the players as a group are ready for it,” he said.
“We feel we do need to still strengthen in a few areas but overall we are prepared as best we can be and we are looking forward to the challenge against Colchester.
“We have kept a core from last season but we also have a lot of new players and we need to make sure we embed our principles into those players. That’s been working well but it will take time.
“It will be a work in progress for the first ten games or so, it’s a fresh start and it’s a new league with new challenges.
“A lot of teams have recruited quite well and I don’t think many teams have stayed the same at all.
“I think you will see a lot of chopping and changing in the first ten games and because there has been so much change I think you will see a bit of inconsistency.
“My focus is on getting our group right, it’s a new group and we will be trying to get the best we can out of that group.
“I understand our fans will expect and I’d rather have that pressure put on us. I don’t want to take that away from them and as staff we are pushing hard to be the best we can be.
“Hopefully we can live up to expectations and we will certainly be doing the best we can.
