“I’ve seen some things in pre-season that have been good and I’ve also seen things that we need to tighten up on,” he said.
“We had a mixture of those on Saturday at Cheltenham, we were quite good in the first half but in the second half I felt we were a little bit disjointed.
“There were some good moments on Saturday, especially in the first half but there were also moments where we can be a lot better.
“We hope to start the season well but we feel we will be improving over the first ten games.
“Pre-season can be a little bit false, the league is our bread and butter and we can’t wait for Colchester on Saturday.”
Brady meanwhile confirmed the fitness status of Ben Fox and Kieron Bowie who both missed the game at Cheltenham.
“Ben has picked up a bit of a hamstring injury and he could be out for a couple of weeks.
“Kieron’s ankle is being assessed and we will see what we get back on that.
“We are still working hard to add to the group, we have been close and just missed out on one or two but we keep working. We have still got time and we will keep trying to strengthen the squad.”
