The Cobblers boss reflects on a productive week

8 July 2022

Northampton Town manager Jon Brady was pleased as he reflected on Friday's 1-1 draw with Dundee United and looked back on the week in Scotland overall.

The Cobblers have been based at St Andrews this week and ended the week with a practice game against a side who came fourth in the SPL last season and have qualified for Europe.

"It was a really good test for us," he said.

"Our focus at the moment is still building towards fitness but there are some good signs. A few of the players upped their minutes to 60 and we will continiue to build that up next week when we are back at Sixfields.

"We thank Dundee United for the game, we are very grateful for the test and it was a strongly contested game.

"They are a good side, they are in Europe and they have quality players but I felt we matched them and we did well. There are certain things we have worked on this week that we saw the players take on board and we looked strong defensively.

"We have had a great time up in Scotland and the facilities here at St Andrews are great.

"We have had our time together on and off the pitch and you can see that with this group there are no egos, we all pull together and we are really pleased with what we are seeing.

"Everything has been so good. It is such a lovely place and we have had a great week."
