JON BRADY CAN'T WAIT TO BE BACK IN FRONT OF THE SIXFIELDS CROWD

The views of the Cobblers boss as Northampton Town prepare for first home game since late November

Northampton Town are set to play their first home game since the end of November when Crawley Town visit Sixfields on Saturday and manager Jon Brady says he can't wait.

“We are really looking forward to being back at home,” he said.

“We love playing in front of the fans here, they have really got behind us and been really vocal in recent games and hopefully we will have a big crowd in on Saturday.

“Crawley have had a good run of results recently but the focus has to be on us and how we can exploit the opposition and nullify any of their threats.

“We want to feel the energy of our fans on Saturday and hopefully that will feed into our performance.

“We are having a good week to prepare and work on the fitness of the players. Preparation is key and I don’t like to leave any stone unturned.

“We always feel like we are ready to take teams on but for Swindon a lack of preparation and fitness hurt us. We only had a very limited time with the players, Our output was just below where it usually is for 50 minutes and after that it dropped off a cliff. That was our downfall, we did our best but the game just ran away from us.

“You can always learn from everything you do but I don’t want to dwell on it too much because overall this season we have been good in what we do. We have drawn a line under it and we move on.

“We know what we need to do right and we have to get our fitness levels back to make sure we are back to our best on Saturday.”
