The Northampton Town youth team made a winning start to their EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division fixtures with a 2-1 success over Swindon Town on Saturday.
First half goals from Jack Connor and Kenny Ndefo secured the win, and coach Shane Goddard was pleased to reflect on a good result.
"It was a bitty performance that we would like to improve on but a good result and we have that winning mentality at the moment," he said.
"We are on a really good run at the moment and the boys are finding ways to win.
"That said, I don't want us to lose sight of the fact that we are developing and while results are great, we know we need to try and be better with the ball.
"That said, the boys can be proud of the way they have handled a disrupted week and this was a great way to start the Merit Division fixtures."
