A report on Sunday's action

20 February 2022

The Northampton Town Women won through to the final of the Northamptonshire FA's Women's Cup with a 7-0 win at Netherton United on Sunday.

The Cobblers went ahead just before half time, Zoe Boote cut inside and forced a save from the keeper but the rebound fell in to the path of Leah Cudone who smashed the ball home.

Rachael Mumford made it 2-0 on 66 minutes, some neat passing between the scorer and substitute Gracie Williams saw Mumford unleash a shot from 30 yards that flew in to the net.

The floodgates were now open and Cudone added her second and the Cobblers third on 72 minutes, finding the bottom corner after a slick move, before Abbie Reboul quickly added a fourth goal.

Alex Dicks made it 5-0 on 77 minutes having been set up by Fay Noble and it wasn't long before Leah Cudone completed her hat-trick with a neat lob over the keeper.

The scoring was rounded off in the 84th minute when tidy work from Gracie Williams set up Alex Dicks to score and secure Northampton Town's place in the final.

Cobblers: Jo Daniel, Bianca Luttman, Emma Billenness, Sara Wait, Eden Brown, Alex Bartlett, Leah Cudone, Georgia Tear, Beth Artemiou, Alex Dicks, Zoe Boote.
