CLUB TRIGGER OPTION IN ALI KOIKI'S CONTRACT TO EXTEND DEFENDER'S STAY

Northampton Town have triggered an extension to the contract of defender Ali Koiki to extend his stay at Sixfields.

The 22 year old Koiki has become a fan favourite in his first season at the club.

Arriving at Northampton Town last summer, Koiki has made 37 appearances so far this season, either as a left back or a left wing back and his performances as an attacking full back have earned him high praise.

"Ali has done tremendously well since arriving at the club in pre-season," said manager Jon Brady.

"We spotted he had potential and we have worked with him to develop his game and he has come on in leaps and bounds and has played a big role for us this season. We put a clause in his contract for the option of a further year and we are pleased to trigger that option.

"We believe Ali is in the best place to continue his development here and we will work hard with him to do just that."
