Miguel Ngwa and Jack Connor were in action as AFC Rushden and Diamonds lost 2-1 at home to Hitchin Town in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central on Tuesday.
The Northampton Town loanees were both included in the hosts’ starting line up, the latter lasting the full 90 minutes and the former being substituted after 71.
Forward Connor was heavily involved in the first half and played a pivotal role as his side opened the scoring 10 minutes before the interval, putting pressure on his marker who turned into his own net.
Midfielder Ngwa rounded the visiting goalkeeper but a defender recovered to block his effort early in the second half.
