The Northampton Town youth team recorded their second win in three days with a 1-0 success at Newport County on Saturday.
Under 16 player Jacob Scott scored the only goal with around 15 minutes remaining.
"We had some very heavy legs after Thursday night's game and this was a very professional performance," said coach Shane Goddard.
"As a group the players made some excellent decisions. They knew when to press, when to keep their shape and when to attack.
"We had a couple of nervy moments towards the end but the boys deserved the win.
"The staff are really proud of this group, and the effort and commitment they are showing.
"This was a tough game on a difficult surface coming 36 hours after a cup final win and following a three hour journey and the boys can be very pleased."
