The Northampton Town Women's development team won through to the final of the League Cup after a 3-1 win in Sunday's semi final against Bugbrooke.
The Cobblers took the lead on nine minutes, a flowing team move found Alex Bartlett free in the box. She slammed the ball across the keeper and into the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Bugbrooke levelled from a corner on 21 minutes, before Francesca Partridge restored Northampton Town's lead with 33 played, finishing well in to the bottom corner from 15 yards.
Partridge was close to extending the lead on the hour mark but the Bugbrooke keeper made an excellent save.
That only delayed matters though as Partridge did score her second and a third for the Cobblers on 70 minutes, making the most of a defensive mix up to score from Speed's intelligent weighted pass.
That was how the scoring remained and the Northampton Town Women's development team secured their place in the League Cup final.
