Jon Brady was delighted as a brace from Sam Hoskins and a goal from Louis Appere secured a 3-0 home win over Harrogate Town on Easter Monday.
Back-to-back wins over the Easter weekend mean the Cobblers are now just two points behind Port Vale in third and only four points behind second-placed Exeter who still have to come to Sixfields.
“To get six points over the weekend is really pleasing,” he said.
“The attitude of the players was right all the way through to the end and overall I thought we deserved that today.
“We’ve still got a lot of work to do but it was a whole team effort today.
“I’m really pleased for Louis Appere, he’s been doing a lot of things right and I knew he would start scoring. He showed great composure to set up Sam Hoskins and exceptional bravery for his goal.
“I played Sam up front and his goal to games ratio is very good when you play him there. I say a lot of superlatives about Sam but that’s 51 goals for the club now and that is a terrific effort.
“We're not going to get carried away with anything, we’ve had a good Easter weekend and now it’s onto Leyton Orient.”
