Jon Brady was delighted following the Cobblers 4-2 win at Leyton Orient, a result which saw his side move back into the automatic promotion places with two games to go.

Backed by over 1,200 travelling supporters the Cobblers led 4-1 at half-time thanks to a Mitch Pinnock wonder-strike, a Josh Eppiah brace and a goal from Jon Guthrie. Orient then pulled a goal back early in the second half but despite some nervy moments, Brady’s side clinched an important three points in the promotion race.

“It’s just another step to where we want to be,” he said.

“Our performance in the first half was really controlled and we were clinical with the chances we had.

“A lot of things we have worked hard on this week the boys did really well today which is pleasing and overall I’m happy to get the three points.

"Orient are a good side with good players, Richie Wellens has rejuvenated them and to come here and come out on top is a terrific effort.

“The whole team to a man worked incredibly hard and our fans really lifted us. The noise that came from them today was unbelievable and we thank them for their support.

“It was great to celebrate with the fans at the end and you have got to enjoy those moments.

“I would urge the fans to raise the roof off Sixfields next week.

“We have got to keep going, work hard this week in training and focus on Exeter. It’s a good win today but we have to press on now.

“The belief is growing in the group but we have got to step on again."
