The views of the Cobblers boss

12 April 2022

Cobblers boss Jon Brady previews the trip to Oldham Athletic.

“We are in the mix with five games to go, we are giving it everything we’ve got and if we can just find that cutting edge we could have a fantastic end to the season,” he said.

“We’ve been in a promotion race all season and every game we approach as the next big game.

“Oldham are scrapping for their lives but we have to focus on us.

“We are expecting a battle but our approach is to go out and try and get the three points.

“Top three is still achievable, the only thing missing from our game is putting the ball in the back of the net and we are doing everything we can to try and rectify that.

“I’ve looked at Saturday’s game again and it’s obvious to anyone that the way we set out to press Bradford was brilliant. We created a lot of opportunities and I thought we were dominant pretty much throughout.

“Overall we played some really good football and there was lots to be pleased about we just couldn’t find that breakthrough goal.

“That is frustrating for everyone but if we can replicate that performance and continue to play at that tempo and energy we will win more games in the final run-in.

“We have to remain positive in what we do and I’m really pleased the players still have that belief in them. We’ve got five games left and our approach will be to try and win every game.”
