As part of the club's 125th birthday celebrations, a host of celebrities and Northampton Town Legends will play in a special charity match at Sixfields on Sunday (April 24th, 3pm kick off) with proceeds going towards Sands United and the Northampton Town Community Trust.
Sands United are one of the club's official charity partners and is a team of men united by the loss of a child.
According to the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDS), every year in the UK more than 5,000 babies are stillborn or die within the first four weeks of life, while one in five pregnancies ends in a miscarriage. The team gives members an outlet to speak freely and also talk about mental health, while the Northampton Town Community Trust is the club's official charitable arm and focuses on the club's extensive engagement work supporting the community.
Among the names from the world of TV, music and showbiz set to appear in the game are Dan Osborne, Jake Wood, Jeremy Lynch, James Argent, Shayne Ward, Lee Latchford Evans, Max Bowden, Joe Sealey, Bleu Laundau, Martyn Ford, Tom Malone, Dean Gaffney, Dan Hatchard, Man Like Haks, Dom Lever, Matt Lapinskas, Josh Ritchie, Adam Smith, Kevin Cooper and Kieran Conway along with some former Cobblers players including the likes of Marc Richards, Ian Sampson, Chris Dunn, David Buchanan and Cobblers fan and former Premier League referee Pete Walton.
