Jon Brady said he felt Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Swindon Town was a 'fantastic advert for League 2 football.'

Fraser Horsfall’s 83rd minute header earned the Cobblers a point on a thoroughly entertaining afternoon at Sixfields.

“It could have gone either way today and I think it was a fantastic advert for League 2 football,” he said.

“I think it was our best return so far this season in terms of chances created but both teams had their moments today and it was real end to end stuff at times

“We were knocking on the door and in the end it took a fantastic header from Fraser. He’s our captain and our leader and it was a great goal.

“We were so close to another one at the end and we could have won it but maybe so could they. Overall I was pleased with our performance and I was pleased with the way we fought back. I was disappointed with the goal we conceded and we need to be better in those moments.

“The fans really lifted us in the second half, they stayed positive and I’m glad they did. Fans will back you if you show the never say die attitude that we did and we are starting to really build that connection between the players and the fans.

“We are trying to entertain the fans and I think today was the best football we’ve played so far this season. It’s not always going to happen but that’s the way we want to play week in week out. We are creating more chances, we had better quality into the box today and I’m convinced more goals will come.”
