JON BRADY PLEASED WITH SUMMER RECRUITMENT

The Cobblers boss on the summer transfer window

Jon Brady is pleased with the club's work through the summer transfer window.

The Cobblers boss feels the new recruits have all added to the squad, and have helped to create a strong team spirit.

“We’ve brought a squad together that has a strong connection with all the players, we did have the opportunity to bring in other players in close to the deadline but what we wanted to do was to really give the players we have here the opportunity and not just bring others in for the sake of it," he said.

“We want to give them every chance and then we will assess it again in the run up to the next window.

“The process of recruitment is really important, we didn’t want to make any snap decisions and anyone we bring in we want to make certain they will improve us.

“We are going to make educated decisions and we will have a really good look at this squad over the next few months and I think that is a better approach than making rushed, last minute additions."

Talking about his squad, Brady added:

“Michael Harriman and Jack Sowerby both came through Tuesday night unscathed and we didn’t pick up any other injuries.

“We showed real resilience against Forest Green after a tough start and I was pleased with the way the players responded.

“We needed to get minutes into some players on Tuesday night and we got that.

“We’ve got strength in depth and adaptability in the squad and I felt the game overall was beneficial for us."
