JON BRADY'S POST MATCH THOUGHTS

The Cobblers boss looks back on Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy tie

Jon Brady said the level of performance was much improved as he reflected on Tuesday night’s Papa John’s Trophy tie against Walsall.

“The way we played was the opposite to the weekend, our patterns of play were a lot better and it was great to have Michael Harriman and Dominic Revan out there,” he said.

“It was good to give a few players a run out and I thought Dom did well. Psychologically it was important for him to get the 90 minutes and it was brilliant to see him have the confidence to get forward.

“We’ve had to ease him back in because he’s been out since April but hopefully things can only move forward with him now.

“I was really pleased for Max Dyche to get on as well and I thought he looked really composed.

“I felt we could have dealt with the goal we conceded better but overall the energy and tempo we played tonight was so much better. We had a purpose about us going forward and I was pleased with how we played.

“We were more aggressive in our play and to fight for the ball, that was important tonight, hopefully Saturday against Sutton was just a blip and we can move forward now.”
