Jon Brady praised his side following Tuesday night’s 3-0 home victory over Stevenage.
Kion Etete, Sam Hoskins and Fraser Horsfall were all on target as the Cobblers recorded back-to-back wins to move up to 6th in Sky Bet League 2.
“To get back-to-back home wins is really positive,” he said.
“I’m really pleased for Kion to get his first league goal and it’s just rewards for all his hard work.
“Conditions were horrendous but we needed to get the ball down and play. We showed a bit of bravery after the first fifteen minutes and we got our rewards for that.
“We are in a good moment as a group, the first eleven feel really connected and we’ve got some good players not in the side who are really pushing them.
“Tranmere will be another tough test, they have got a terrific defensive record and our challenge will be to go there to try and break that down.”
