Jon Brady was delighted as the Cobblers recorded a terrific 2-0 away win at Tranmere Rovers, a result which lifted his side up to third in Sky Bet League 2.
Kion Etete volleyed the Cobblers in front on 52 minutes with Sam Hoskins then sealing the three points from the penalty spot.
“We are very pleased, the energy and intensity was there and what we tried to do was control the game,” he said.
“We were relentless in what we did and that gave us the returns.
“We were brave all over in what we did today and how we went about it, we really restricted Tranmere and we didn’t give them any space to move.
“We showed we have learned the lessons from what happened at Hartlepool, I am still learning about the group but they have really shown today what they are capable of when they stretch themselves.
“Winning games breads confidence but winning these last three games how we have done is really important to us.
“Irrespective of the result today I was really pleased with the bravery of the performance and the way we didn’t allow Tranmere a second.
“We set ourselves mini targets every few games, we break the season down into segments and at the moment we are reaching those targets. We will keep chipping away and just see where that takes us.
“Today was another great moment to share with the fans and I’m delighted we could reward their support with that performance.”
