Jon Brady said there were plenty of positives from the performance at Hartlepool United, even though the result ultimately went against the Cobblers.
“Tactically our game plan was strong, we played on the front foot but having gotten ourselves in front to concede a goal the way we did was very disappointing," he said.
“We tried to get a foothold back in the game after that and I think the boys really wanted to go and win the game and because of that we left ourselves open.
“The players have worked in units this week to look back at the game and I wanted them to see what they did well and what they can do better.
“There are only small tweaks we need to make to get things right and if we can get that we will start seeing positive results again.
“We need that final bit of quality in the final third and we can do things as well to make the game not as stretched.
“We need to score more goals but our delivery has to be better as well. We are working hard on it in training and we need to make sure we do it when it counts on matchday.”
