JON BRADY ON THE IMPORTANCE OF BOUNCING BACK

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy tie

Jon Brady says it is important his squad take the lessons away from Saturday's game with Sutton United.

The Cobblers boss says it was a very uncharacteristic performance, and he is looking for his side to bounce back this week, starting with Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy tie against Walsall at Sixfields.

“We know that the performance on Saturday was not acceptable and it was a day where the whole team, apart from Liam Roberts, were not at the races. We were so disconnected and we need to get back to where we were in the previous games," he said.

“Everyone can have a bad day at work I was just hugely disappointed for the fans. It was a long way from where we want to be on Saturday and we need to make sure that was just a blip.

“Saturday’s game aside we have started the season very strong defensively and we had started to build on that going forward in the previous two home games especially. We haven’t scored the amount of goals I would have liked but we have been very strong and resilient. Last week we were two minutes away from going second in the table and we have to bounce back quickly from last weekend.”
