BRAD CHESHIRE SCORES SIX AS NORTHAMPTON TOWN FOOTBALL & EDUCATION PROGRAMME CEFAL SQUAD SCORE EIGHT

Details of Wednesday's CEFAL Central 4

Brad Cheshire scored a double hat-trick as the Northampton Town Football and Education Programme CEFAL Central 4 squad won 8-1 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘B’ on Wednesday.

The Cobblers’ other goals came from Kelvin Kwarteng and an own goal.

Cheshire opened the scoring after a quarter-of-an-hour when he converted a deep cross at the back post.

The lead was doubled when Wolves failed to clear a corner and the ball bounced into the back of the net.

Cheshire curled home his second from the edge of the area 21 minutes in.

The striker completed his hat-trick five minutes before the break, spinning a defender and half-volleying in.

He had a double hat-trick within five minutes of the restart, hooking in from a cross, chipping the goalkeeper from the edge of the box and slotting the ball home after running on to goalkeeper Kai Hanley’s long ball.

Kelvin Kwarteng, who started in goal for the Cobblers before moving into midfield, added an eighth when he shifted the ball out of his feet and fired in off the cross bar with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

Wolves’ number 10 blasted a consolation into the top corner, but it was a comfortable afternoon for Francis Banks’ side who host Birmingham City ‘C’ next week.

Cobblers: Kelvin Kwarteng, Joshua Davey, Max Hust, James Lewis, Liam Wood, Nathan Fitzgerald, Fjord Nickles, Sonny Reeves, Brad Cheshire, Alistair Osbourne, Charlie Clarke
Subs: Kenny Kwarteng, Haydn Hughes, Kai Hanley
