Jon Brady named the same side for a third consecutive game as the Cobblers took on Stevenage under the lights at Sixfields.

On a wet and blustery night in Northampton, conditions were proving tough for both sides with clear cut chances hard to come by.

The Cobblers made the breakthrough on 34 minutes however, following good work from Paul Lewis, Mitch Pinnock played in Kion Etete whose low shot proved too much for Joseph Anang.

Sam Hoskins then doubled the home side’s lead before half-time, Anang unable to keep out Hoskins follow-up effort after an initial save to deny Pinnock.

Stevenage made a double change not long into the second half with Bruno Andrade and Jamie Reid replacing Elliot Osborne and Luke Norris.

Fraser Horsfall headed the Cobblers third goal on 63 minutes, the central defender rising superbly to connect with Pinnock’s perfectly delivered in-swinging corner kick.

Liam Roberts saved comfortably from Andrade before Nicke Kabamba and Danny Rose came on for Kion Etete and Shaun McWilliams. Pinnock then made way for Dylan Connolly in the Cobblers final change.

Paul Lewis saw a powerful header deflected behind as Town pressed for a fourth goal but it finished 3-0 as Brady’s side recorded back-to-back wins.
