Northampton Town Under 18s progressed to the semi finals of the Northamptonshire FA David Joyce Cup with an 8-0 win away to Wellingborough Town on Tuesday.
Kenny Ndefo scored four having scored a hat-trick in the last round. Captain-for-the-night Ethan Lack and Miguel Ngwa netted braces.
Coach Shane Goddard made five changes to the side that lost to Southend United on Saturday with the tie being the sixth of nine fixtures in a month. Callum Cook, Reece Irwin, Josh Tomlinson, Ngwa and Ndefo came into the team.
The visitors opened the scoring 10 minutes in, Ndefo running onto Lack’s through ball and firing low into the far corner.
There was a lengthy delay following the goal while Alfie Whitchurch received treatment. The Wellingborough goalkeeper was substituted and within moments Lack rounded his replacement and tapped into the empty net.
Lack doubled his tally three minutes later, nodding in at the back post from Courtney Lashley’s corner.
Kai O’Keeffe’s corner was punched out on the half-hour mark, and Ndefo hooked home to add his second.
Ngwa scored a fifth deep into first half added time, finding the back of the net from the edge of the area despite a touch from the goalkeeper.
Ndefo completed his hat-trick soon after the break, shrugging off a defender and slotting into the bottom right corner.
It was seven a few minutes later when Ngwa broke through and slid in his second of the night.
Ndefo bagged his fourth after being played through by substitute Harry Guess late on.
The youth team return to EFL Youth Alliance League South East action this weekend when they host third-placed Luton Town.
