JON BRADY: 'THE WHOLE SQUAD STOOD UP TODAY'

The views of the Cobblers boss

27 November 2021

Jon Brady praised his side following Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Leyton Orient.

Sam Hoskins scored the only goal as the Cobblers recorded their fifth consecutive win at home to move up to second in the table.

“I’m delighted, it was two teams battling the conditions today which were horrible for football, both teams had a right go but we stood up strong,” he said.

“I’ve asked about the whole squad stepping up and today we did.

“We put our bodies on the line and I couldn’t ask any more of the players today.

“It was brilliant from Sam for the goal to read the situation and it was great for Max Dyche to get a little assist.

“We are stretched defensively at the moment but we know what Max can do, he hasn’t played for a long time but his performance showed the real dedication he has been putting in on the training ground.

“Kion Etete has got a bit of pain in his hamstring but we brought him off as early as we could and we didn’t want to take any risks with him.

“You can’t question the team spirit and togetherness we have here, you can really feel it within the group and I’m really pleased for the players today."
