Jon Brady admitted his side were not at their best as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-1 away defeat at Bristol Rovers.
Sam Hoskins penalty saw the Cobblers in front at half-time but quickfire goals from Josh Grant and Anthony Evans turned the game on its head in the second half.
“It’s a tough place to come here for anyone and I was just disappointed today because I feel we are better than we showed,” he said.
“Defensively we weren’t good enough and we didn’t deal with the situations well enough.
“We’ve looked really strong and solid for the most part this season but the goals we gave away today were extremely disappointing.
“We fought right until the end but we needed to be better and the simple fact is we weren’t at our best today.”
