CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0-0 COBBLERS
Liam Roberts was the star of the show as the Cobblers played out a goalless draw away to Cambridge United in their final pre-season friendly.
The Cobblers goalkeeper made an excellent save from Jack Iredale’s long-range effort after 20 minutes.
Roberts then saved Joe Ironside’s penalty early in the second half.
Ironside headed a corner goalwards with 10 minutes remaining but Roberts was again on hand to make the save and keep the sides level.

COBBLERS 2-0 CAMBRIDGE UNITED
The Cobblers made it three league wins in a row with a 2-0 win at home to Cambridge United in the 2019-20 season.
Harry Smith ran onto Nicky Adams’ through ball and slotted into the bottom corner to open the scoring midway through the first half.
Smith turned provider in first half added time when George Taft diverted the striker’s cross into his own net.
The Cobblers held on to secure three straight clean sheets and move within three points of the play-off places.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0-1 COBBLERS
Harry Smith scored the only goal as the Cobblers ended their Leasing.com Trophy group stage campaign with a 1-0 win away to Cambridge United earlier in the season.
Smith’s winner came after a quarter-of-an-hour when he converted from close range.
Cambridge had two goals ruled out as they pushed for an equaliser.
Andrew Dallas’ goal was disallowed for a foul on Andy Fisher before another was chalked off for handball as the Cobblers held on to win.
