Midfielder Shaun McWilliams is set to serve a one-match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Oldham on Tuesday night.
“Shaun will be a miss for us and it’s like anything, we have got to come up with the solution that we think will be best to counteract that,” said boss Jon Brady.
“He has been an integral part of our team recently but it will present an opportunity for someone to come in and really try and put a marker down.
“The players on the fringes have got to show us in training that they are determined and working hard to try and force their way into the team. I feel those players haven’t always done that this season and there are a few that need to come up to our standards. That's the challenge
“It’s up to them to fight for that opportunity.”
