The views of the Cobblers boss ahead of Saturday's Sixfields clash

25 November 2021

Jon Brady is relishing the visit of Leyton Orient on Saturday.

“I’m expecting quite a battle and I’m sure there will be a strong home crowd and that will really spur us on,” he said.

“Orient will be strong opponents. They are unbeaten in their last 8 and they’ve only lost 2 games this season.

“They are in every single game they play and they are only just behind us in the league but our home form has been strong and we can take confidence from that.

“Harry Smith has shown what he can do this season, he’s a player who has always had that talent but speaking to him in the summer it was evidently clear that he needed to be back home.

“A player’s well-being is so important and I’m really glad to see him doing so well but hopefully he won’t do so well on Saturday.

“We were very good in the first half against Oldham but in the second half they played in a certain way to counteract us and you are not always going to have it your own way at this level.

“We need to be adaptable and more flexible in those moments, some of our decision making needed to be better but in the end we dug out the result.

“We’ve been hugely competitive for the most part this season and apart from one or two occasions where we have let ourselves down we’ve always been up for the battle.”
