JON BRADY LOOKS AHEAD TO TUESDAY'S PAPA JOHN'S TROPHY TIE

The views of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady previews Tuesday night’s group fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion under 21s in the Papa John’s Trophy at Sixfields, kick-off 7pm.

The Cobblers currently sit third in the Papa John’s Trophy Southern Group D, but a win on Tuesday will be enough to see Northampton Town make the knock out stages of the competition as Walsall play Forest Green Rovers in their final group game.

The top two from the group qualify, with the group winners at home in the first round of the knock out stage of the competition.

“We want to get through to the next round and we will attack the game as we always do,” he said.

“There will be a chance for one or two younger players but we have still got a lot of experience in our frontline and it will be good for those players to get some more minutes under their belt.

“The team is on a good run and we are in a good moment right now but with the injuries and illnesses we have picked up it is probably a good time for us to have a two week break from the league.

“We have worked really hard to get back into this position but it has come at a cost.

“It has taken a bit of time but hopefully everyone can see that things are starting to take shape and we are building those connections.”
