The Northampton Town Football and Education Programme NFYL South Central Championship squad came from behind to win 3-1 at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Wednesday.
Jonny Harris (pictured) scored a brace and Callum Law scored the Cobblers’ other goal as Tom Ash’s side earned their win.
Wycombe threatened early on, but Law made a last-ditch challenge to prevent them from opening the scoring.
Harry Francis-Jones dived to his left to push away a low effort 10 minutes in. The Cobblers went up the other end, but Elliot Balchin-Love’s shot was smothered by the goalkeeper.
The visitors took the lead after 17 minutes when an attacker capitalised on a defensive mix-up and passed the ball into the open goal.
The Cobblers came close to equalising on the half-an-hour mark, but Balchin-Love fired Harris’ square ball over from close range.
They did level the scoring before half time when Harris nodded home Law’s corner.
Wycombe came out on top after the break, but the Cobblers were two goals ahead before the hour.
Law ran onto Balchin-Love’s through ball and struck into the far top corner a few minutes before Harris headed home the rebound after a Balchin-Love effort was tipped onto the cross bar.
Substitute Brad Cheshire hooked over from six yards and Balchin-Love side-footed across goal as the hosts looked to increase their advantage, but it remained at two as they secured a deserved comeback win.
Ash’s team travel to Watford next week.
