Northampton Town Women topped the group in the Trevor Clifton Trophy after a 3-0 win against Peterborough United Women on Sunday.
The Cobblers opened the scoring on 22 minutes; a ball down the line was chased down by Abbie Brewin, who crossed first time into the six yard box for Gracie Williams to fire into the back of the net.
Northampton pushed for a second before the break after dominating the ball, but at half-time the score remained 1-0.
It didn’t take long after the restart for the Cobblers to make it two, Leah Cudone getting on the end of an Abbie Reboul through ball and finishing in the bottom corner to double the lead.
Cudone then added her second of the afternoon on 57 minutes. A Billenness corner which Posh failed to clear initially was kept alive by Luttman and converted by Cudone for 3-0.
That is how the game finished with the Cobblers unbeaten and topping the group. They will go on to face Coalville Town away in the next round this coming Sunday.
