MEET THE NEW SCHOLARS

An introduction to the players joining the youth team next season

The Northampton Town Academy will welcome nine new full time scholars in to the club's youth team for the 2021/22 season.

The new full time scholars joining Shane Goddard's squad are:

James Dadge - James is a talented young goalkeeper from Northampton with an excellent range of passing. He has been with the club since u9s.

Brad Smith-Howes - Brad is an attacking right back from Northampton who has been with the club since u10s.

Reece Irwin - Reece is a centre back from Northampton who has a physical presence and loves the defensive side of the game. Reece has been with the club since u12s.

Ayo Lekuti - Ayo is a left sided player from Birmingham, who is capable of playing either left back or left wing. He is a tenacious player who recently joined as a u16 after leaving Coventry City.

Josh Brown - Josh joined as a u16 having recently left West Bromwich Albion. Another Birmingham based player, Josh is a ball playing centre back.

Dylan Hill - Dylan is an all action midfielder who is good on the ball. Dylan joined the club as a u11 and has made a number of impressive performances for the under 18s this season. Dylan is another Northampton based player who has a huge passion for the club.

Rico Duggan - Rico is a technical attacking midfielder with an eye for creativity. Rico has been with the club since u9 and is another of our players from Northampton.

Kai O'Keeffe - Kai is a dynamic forward player, capable of playing on either wing on centrally, he likes to take opponents on 1v1 and has an eye for goal. Kai is from Leicester and joined the club towards the end of U15s having impressed during a trial period.

Kenny Ndefo - Kenny is a Northampton based centre forward who has a physical presence and an eye for goal. Kenny scored the dramatic late winner in the youth team's 3-2 win against Southend earlier in the season, sparking wild celebrations. Kenny has been at the club since u9s.

The players underwent an induction evening this week, and we welcome all to the ranks of full time scholars!
