Max Dyche is delighted to be joining the ranks of professional players at Northampton Town.
The young centre back, who made his first team debut while still an academy player last season, has been speaking about signing his first professional contract this summer.
"I am buzzing, it has been a long journey with a lot of hard work but it is a dream come true," he said.
"I joined the club as an under 9 and have come through the academy. it has been tough coming through the age groups but I got there in the end.
"The staff will make it an easier transition having worked with all of the staff in the academy. It has to be a good thing for us young players to have worked with Jon, Rico, Sammo, Ash and Michael Bolger before.
"The challenge for me is to do well in pre-season. Pre-season is a fresh start and chance for you to lay a marker down and I will work hard and do that and see what next season brings.
"It has been a long season, we will rest and relax for a week or so and then get back to training and will come back for pre-season ready to go.
"Playing at Sixfields in front of a crowd will be a great incentive for me. I played at Oxford and Crewe with fans in the stadium and that was great but I am desperate to play at Sixfields in front of our own fans next season."
