Northampton Town manager Jon Brady has provided a squad update.
Brady confirmed the club remain in talks with Lloyd Jones and Ryan Watson, while he expects Scott Pollock to sign a new deal in the coming days. He also confirmed that defender Cian Bolger has not taken up his contract option within the two week timeframe and has left the club.
“We expect Scott to sign in the next few days," said Brady.
“Talks are still ongoing with Lloyd and Ryan, we feel they have been positive and in the next couple of weeks we will know either way whether they are going to be with us next season or not.
“They are good players and there will be interest in those players but we are doing our best to keep them here. We feel we’ve made them both competitive offers.
“As for Cian, he had two weeks from the final game of the season to trigger the option in his contract and he hasn’t done that and so we move on.
“We wish Cian the very best and we move on and search for another centre half.
“Joseph Mills has done a brilliant job as captain towards the end of the season with Lloyd Jones deputising on a couple of occasions as well but ideally we’d like to recruit several leaders into the squad."
