FRANKLINS SOLICITORS PROVIDE FOOD DONATION WORTH £2000 TO SUPPORT WORK OF NORTHAMPTON TOWN COMMUNITY TRUST

Donation made to local food banks.

24 March 2021

Last week, the Northampton Town Community Trust were delighted to accept a food delivery from His Church to the value of £2,000.00 thanks to a generous donation from Franklins Solicitors. Building on the work the Community Trust have been doing throughout the pandemic, the food pallet, containing a range of items including baby food, rice, tinned items, cereals and much more will be used to support families and individuals across Northamptonshire.

Northampton Town FC Community Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, Phill Smith said, “We are extremely grateful to both Franklins Solicitors for funding and His Church for delivering this amazingly generous food donation. Everyone should have access to good food but unfortunately, increasingly we know this is not always the case. This donation will be a fantastic help to enable us to support families and individuals across Northamptonshire at this challenging time.”

The bulk of the food will be distributed via the Weston Favell Foodbank of whom the Community Trust have been working with throughout the pandemic, with the remainder being used on the Northampton Town FC Community Trusts’ holiday activity and food programme being delivered in Wellingborough and Northampton over the Easter half term period.

Anne Woodley, the Foodbank Manager at Weston Favell Foodbank was also delighted with the donation, adding, “The food donated to Weston Favell Foodbank has been a great help and support to our local community. The food is greatly welcomed by our foodbank guests. It makes the difference of going to sleep with a full tummy of food and to be warm sadly for some families. I’d like to thank them for their support, it is greatly appreciated.”

Millie Coletta from Franklins Solicitors said, “We are really pleased to have been able to provide a mixed pallet of food to the NTFC Community Trust to help families in the local area this Easter. The pandemic, along with other economic difficulties have caused a significant increase in the amount of people using food banks and needing this extra support. NTFC Community Trust have been on hand to help many through these difficult times. We are grateful for their commitment and to be able to contribute to their ongoing work in this area. We hope that our donation will go a long way to providing much needed meals for families and individuals.”
