JON BRADY FRUSTRATED BY PERFORMANCE IN DEFEAT TO CREWE

Jon Brady was a frustrated man as he looked back on Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Crewe.

“It was hugely frustrating, it was a real dogfight out there but there are times when you need to win the battle and then play on top of that,” he said.

“We reverted to type a bit today, that wasn’t us and it’s not what we want.

“We need to be braver on the ball and I apologise to those supporters watching or listening to the game today.

“We were slow moving the ball and too often we just tried to go long. Our movement wasn’t good up front and even when we got down the sides we didn’t have any quality in delivery.

“We had a great chance just before Crewe scored and then it was another soft goal we gave away. I expected Ryan Edmondson to score but we will keep working with him because that’s what we do with players.

“I felt again we could and should have had a penalty just before half-time but we have to look at ourselves today and we need to do better.

“Today was a bump in the road, there are going to be highs and lows between now and the end of the season and I’ve got to try and stay on an even keel.

“We are still only one point off safety and we are going to fight to stay in this league.”
