Jon Brady said Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon was a tough result to accept.
“It’s a really hard one to take,” he said.
“We are in a dogfight and there are going to be twists and turns but even in our worse moments what we can’t do and what we won’t do is give in.
“In the second half I felt we were in the ascendancy but I was disappointed with our delivery from wide areas and we took too long to get the ball into the box.
“We weren’t aggressive enough from the front and we needed to create more. I felt we dominated the second half territorially and in possession without really creating anything clear cut.
“For the goal there was a clear push from the corner but regardless we need to defend that better.
“It’s still very tight and I think it’s going to go down to the wire. We were a bit lacklustre today and it wasn’t the high energy performance that we had against Oxford. Not enough of our players performed today and there were too many who were a bit off it. As a player you should thrive in this moment and we need to play how we want to play.
“There is still a lot to play for, we are right in the mix and right now we are above that line. We will keep going and we will fight right until the end.”
