Caretaker boss Jon Brady was delighted following the Cobblers' 4-1 home win over Portsmouth, all the goals coming in the first half with Ryan Watson’s double followed by a Fraser Horsfall header and Sam Hoskins exquisite chip.
The result meant back-to-back wins for Brady and lifted the Cobblers out of the relegation zone.
“I’m delighted, the boys worked extremely hard in the first half and got their rewards for it,” he said.
“The players are connected, that is something we have really worked on and that is paying dividend at the moment.
“We may be out of the bottom four but we are nowhere near being out of danger yet.
“We need to keep clawing, keep moving forward and we need to keep achieving the goals we’ve set ourselves.
“Today is another platform to build on and we just need to keep taking steps forward.
“Charlton will be another tough game but like today all the pressure will be on them.”
