Jon Brady praised his players as he looked back on Saturday’s goalless draw at promotion chasers Doncaster Rovers, a point lifting the Cobblers out of the bottom four.

“The application from the players was first class, we worked really hard and it was a good all round performance,” he said.

“We had a couple of good chances and apart from one save in the first half Jonathan Mitchell didn’t have too much to do.

“Our work rate and organisation off the ball was excellent, we need to be better on the ball we know that and now we have a free midweek that is something we can really work on.

“We have picked up four points from play-off contenders in the space of a week and that is a real positive to focus on and build on.

“The attitude of the players has been brilliant, the fixtures have been relentless for everyone and it will be nice to have a week now to refresh.”
